The purpose of the exhibition "Picasso. Sunny years "- to demonstrate to visitors the deep relationship of the artist with the south of France, as well as the significant influence of these ties on the master's work. The artist regularly came to the Cote d'Azur from the 1920s. After World War II, in 1946, he transferred his workshop to the castle in Antibes, now turned into a museum. Two years later, he and Françoise Gilot moved to the city of Vallauris, famous for its ceramics.
It is believed that Picasso began to use brighter colors and borrow scenes from ancient myths precisely after traveling to the Cote d'Azur.
