Last week, the French Embassy in Moscow hosted a press conference on a major retrospective of the brightest representative of the Paris School, Haim Soutine (1893–1943), which will open in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. The President of the Orsay-Orangerie Museum Laurence de Car took part in the press conference held at the French Embassy. This is her first visit to Russia in its current status. The retrospective of Chaim Soutine will be an event that marks the beginning of the partnership between the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts A.S. Pushkin and the Paris Orangerie Museum.

Recall that Laurence de Car worked in the management of the Museum Agency of France, from 1994 to 2007 she was the curator at the Museum d'Orsay. Specialist in art of the XIX - early XX century, Lorance de Car in 2014 headed the Paris Museum of Orangerie, and on March 1, 2017 she was appointed director of the Orsay Museum. She replaced Guy Cojevela, who has held this post since 2008.
